The Wizards of Daviess County Indiana: A Stafford Clan, Their Ideas and Genealogy

Bridging the 1800's into the 1900's in Daviess County, Indiana, was a family clan known as the Staffords. As they straddled changing centuries, they developed their own ideas to link with the future, helping change the way the American people would live their lives. These forward thinking individuals examined their existence and found ways to improve how they and others could cope with their world at that time. These ideas may not have been absorbed into mainstream America, but the history of the contributions by these Staffords to Daviess County, to Indiana, and to the United States, shall not be forgotten.This book profiles one particular family, that of James Morton Stafford. His father was awarded a patent in 1894, next James' wife Nora was awarded a patent, then James himself, had at least 12 patented inventions and many other inventions for which this author could find no patents. Numerous photos from the early 1900's are included in the book which chronicles this family's achievements.Since this family had numerous descendants, the author tracked down James' grandfather and then prepared a descendants' list that finds Stafford descendants to this day. Included are many family photos of individual family members.This book will surely be a valuable research tool for future generations of Staffords, let alone a wonderful heirloom to pass on from generation to generation.
